NBC 5 Chicago anchor Allison Rosati was inducted into the Chicago Silver Circle Class of 2027 by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The announcement took place Saturday, Oct. 24, during the 68th annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards ceremony at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago. The Silver Circle recognizes individuals with at least 25 years of distinguished service to the television industry. It is considered one of the highest honors bestowed by the academy. The formal induction ceremony is scheduled for spring 2027.

Rosati has worked in local news for more than 35 years. She began her broadcast career in 1985 at KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minn., before moving to WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, N.Y., where she anchored evening newscasts. She joined NBC 5 Chicago in 1990 as an anchor and reporter. By 1995, she was promoted to anchor the early evening newscast. In 1997, she became a co-anchor of the station's 10 p.m. newscast. She currently co-anchors the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts Sunday through Thursday.

Her career includes multiple national and local honors. Her Emmy Award-winning series 'Wednesday's Child' helped connect children with adoptive families. Her special 'Smart Choices, Safe Kids' received a national Gracie Award from American Women in Radio and Television. She also received the Dante Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans.

Kevin Cross, President and General Manager of NBCUniversal Local Chicago, stated that Rosati is a trusted presence in Chicago. He said her passion for journalism and connection with the people of Chicago defined her career. The station added that the honor recognizes her impact on viewers and the community.

NBCUniversal Local Chicago, which includes NBC 5 and Telemundo Chicago, won seven Emmy Awards for the 2025-26 television season. The awards were presented at the same ceremony where Rosati was named to the Silver Circle. Winners included Alfonso Gutiérrez, Liliana Lamas, Kate Chappell, and Raúl Quiñones for investigative and news gathering work. Chuck Goudie and Randy Gyllenhaal were recognized for their coverage of Operation Midway Blitz. Santiago Gallego was honored for the human interest story 'El Último Abrazo de Kevin.' Matt Knutson and Matthew Rodrigues won for long-form diversity content. Diego Guirado and Elda Duran were recognized for promotional campaigns.

The seven awards covered categories including investigative reporting, business news, societal concerns, human interest, diversity and equity, and program promotion. The winners were credited with stories and specials that aired during the 2025-26 season. The ceremony marked the conclusion of the annual recognition event for local television professionals in the Chicago and Midwest region.
